IDBALI – Tourist visits to rafting tours in Rendang District, Karangasem Regency, Bali are starting to stretch. Per day, tourist visits are estimated to reach 30 people to 50 people. Visits are dominated by foreign tourists, especially guests from the Middle East and India.

I Made Agus Kertiana, manager of rafting tours in Rendang District, revealed that tourists who have been rafting have started to increase since 2022.

“Fortunately, tourist visits have started to increase after the Covid-19 pandemic. Hopefully it will continue to increase,” said Agus.

The man who also serves as a member of the Karangasem DPRD predicts that the increase in tourist visits may be due to several factors.

Such as opening international flights, so that many foreign tourists visit Bali.

“There are several rafting companies in Telagawaja. The rafting business in Telagawaja also competes in rafting in Gianyar Regency. It is possible that some tourists will also visit Gianyar,” added Agus Kertiana.

Apart from rafting, tourist visits to diving and snorkeling in Padang Bai, Manggis District, Karangasem Regency have increased since 2022.

Per day can reach 100 people to 150 people. Visits are dominated by foreign tourists. While domestic only a few people, such as from Sumatra.

On average, foreign tourists who dive and snorkel in Padang Bai waters want to see nature under the sea. Including fish and coral reefs.

Apart from Padang Bai, diving and snorkeling activities have also increased in several areas.

One of them is in the Blue Lagoon, Manggis District, Tulamben Beach, Kubu District, and Amed Beach, Abang District.

On average, foreign tourists who carry out marine tourism are tourists from the European continent.

Rafting, snorkeling and diving entrepreneurs hope that foreign tourist visits will continue to increase, so that the local economy can revive.

Such as residents who rent out their boats, and entrepreneurs who snorkel and dive around locations on the coast.
