SAR Team Evacuates Egyptian Tourists Who Are Injured by Waves on Bali's Kelingking Beach

IDBALI – An Egyptian foreigner was injured while swimming at Kelingking Beach, Nusa Penida, Klungkung, Bali, Monday 15 May 2023.

The condition of the victim suffered a dislocated arm and needed evacuation assistance in order to get medical treatment.

Initial information was received by the Denpasar Search and Rescue Office (Basarnas Bali) at 12.30 WITA from a guide.

The report explained that the victim with the initials R (male/29) was hit by the waves while swimming.

Following up on requests for assistance for evacuation, Basarnas Bali mobilized 4 personnel from the Nusa Penida SAR Alert Unit and 1 guide.

The evacuation process was carried out by sea using a Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB 02) which departed from Sampalan Port.

“We dispatched 3 rescuers to swim to the beach because the RIB could not lean on the shore,” said the Nusa Penida SAR Alert Unit Coordinator, Cakra Negara.

After successfully reaching the victim, the rescue team then placed the victim on a spinal stretcher and pulled him towards the RIB.

Meanwhile, coordination was also carried out with the Nusa Penida Police and the Nusa Penida Primary Clinic.

The evacuation process went smoothly and the victim was successfully evacuated at around 14.10 WITA.

20 minutes later, RIB 02 has docked at Banjar Nyuh Port, Nusa Penida.

Furthermore, the victim was taken to the Nusa Medika Clinic for further medical treatment.
